JBs Back 02:26
I’m back like a virus - the sickest kind I’m the illest in the way that I rhyme I’m not athletic no I couldn’t tackle you But my phonetics flows so tight that it could strangle you. Straight outta H-town I invade your brain now More of the same sound but with more acclaim found My weapon is my set list, fame with my best hits Letterman? Never been, I've got Breakfast Check this mic like get ready fight From open mics to late night shows hype Dual wield the mic tight like Halo night Sights set on the top I write songs Not to right wrongs but to reminisce on the times gone With my light on I write long into the night My alternate life like my studios my rap cave I’m the Dark Knight. I’m back like the terminator, a word invader A nostalgia pop culture retro rhyming player So pass the controller over to me I'm deadly like an rpg and i don’t mean the weaponry Give you a clue like I'm blue to my true identity Rapping like Parapa till I’m outta mana energy Or is it mana? My accent is confused when I'm tryna add drama or sound harder don’t know which to use Lit the fuse like I’m Bomberman Switching views let you choose the perspective that I'll rock you in Sleeping in watching cartoons, advertisements suck Subscribe to my YouTube! What!? I'm a lyrical wizard casting a syllable blizzard With witticism and wisdom envisioned which is it? Witness this lyrical quidditch with a Slytherin tounge I've got 99 problems but a snitch aint one

I used to hire from the video store But I got tired of scratched disks that don't play anymore And highly recommended sections disconnected from my own preferences While I find myself tempted by expensive snacks and beverages My imperative is entertainment at a reasonable price Like free from an internet site right? Might sail away and let anchors sink like magnet links in the Bay A pirate’s life is the life for me Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum I surf the net not the seven seas I wouldn't steal a car but I'd download one Pirate my music download and abuse my intellectual property, I’d do the same probably, Potential economy lost isn’t robbery Cost is impossibly high for a victimless crime Do you think that it's fine? Thousands in fines for kids downloading Miley online Find me stacking drives with my piracy Mp3s, movies, leeching each season before they even released within reach of my region. A pirate’s life is the life for me Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum I surf the net not the seven seas I wouldn't steal a car but I'd download one I said a pirate’s life is the life for me Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum I surf the net not the seven seas I wouldn't steal a handbag I'd download one Feeding the seed megabit speed to the bird on my back Parrot on my shoulder say'n Polly want a crack? Or a cam rip or a hacked disc or a leaked hit from an artist Dollar sign sits where their heart is profit margins are what their art is Cause millionaire studios don't need to sue 10 year olds Cat o nines fly for small crimes online Behind the times breaking their own bank Blindfolding themselves and walking their own planks The video killed the radio star Like the pirate bay killed the video store Like DVD killed the VCR The FBI killed Megaupload

Slacker 03:45
So I sleep in late give me a break it’s a lazy Sunday Well, give or take maybe it's Monday Some days seem to blur into one day Each day gone the same when you’re bordering on Groundhog up in the suburbs Couch bound bored and malnourished Cause 2-minute-noodles lack the nutrition To exhibit symptoms of wanting to work Expectations are low never disappointed Life goals perfected in avoidance Accept you're going nowhere fast Pop a corona, success at last Learnt my life philosophy from Homer Listen, not the Greek poet the Simpson Enlist his wisdom if problems are brewing "If something's hard to do, then it's not worth doing" Wake up I put on yesterday’s pants I pick up my guitar with the shoes string strap My phones not out of credit I just havent turned it on And I'm never late for work cause I've never had a job I'm a slacker wooaaaaahhhhh I'm a slacker wooaaaaahhhhh Monday-itis? I got Janurary-itis twenty-thirteen, This millennium-itis I find it’s my eye lids are tired, not wired to widen for noon never seen the sun rise Inside I’m waiting a bear hibernating for the winter Except i hibernate all year and come out like Never get to the finish cause i never started But I still arrive on my own time regardless Part time artist, the hardest part is finding the time to feel inspired As if society conspired against my kind With responsibilities and 9 to 5s I won’t waste my days to a minimum wage Put the pen to the page for a minimum grade Unpaid not unemployed I’m just a student Well that’s the excuse that I’m choosing to use Beat that block when I write with a beer can Stay inside locked pale white Playstation tan Arts major man no cards in hand Kick back I’m slack don’t give a damn Like Jack Black stick it to the man I am nocturnal won't work I'll Pass nights watching infomercials Alive on a pizza diet like a ninja turtle Won’t leave my shell for certain don’t wanna awaken When just waking up takes your days motivation Attention is failing but its life as I choose it I'm just relaxed don't mistake me for useless The truth is, I’m too lazy to finish this verse.

Wake up 28 days later Read the end of the world in last week’s newspaper Sooth sayers, God prayers Politicians and dooms-dayers Can't reverse the curse of these new days Polluted veins pump blood to dead brains Mutant movements flood streets I fled remains Scattered fresh flesh became A pledge of death for those left to rest in the curse of this new age Walk down alleyway stalked alone Torch outta battery and so is your phone All of the others have left you for dead Got your brains on my mind and mine out of my head I ceased to be dead in traditional senses Feast on the flesh of those peeps that are left. It’s like something from the mind of George A. Romero Coming up behind but more fear is here though May appear slow but you better make way There's a horde in the morgue assorted sorts of decay As face the pains of the taste of brains raw Face to face with a rusty chainsaw Must be insane or in need of a medic But there's no anaesthetic To an embedded genetic defect in aesthetic and soul Delivering death to those already dead, cold Uncovered from rubble a body battered and bled Eyes red opened its mouth and said Taking a taxi, yo I’m taking a hearse Under the zombie curse Don’t need to go to school, don’t need to go to work Under the zombie curse Don’t have to eat my veges to get my desert Under the zombie curse Ate my boss’ brains cause he was a jerk Under the zombie curse Now that I’m a zombie limp in my step with a little smile, Do what I want in the afterlife – Jjust like the middle child Walk past the grocery store flashing back these memories, Watching history fade immortally I’ve got the the centre seat Before when bullies pissed me off I would try to beat em, Now when someone ticks me off I just try to eat em The best part a being a zombie isn’t being a killer, it’s that anytime I want I can do Michael Jackson's thriller Rapping satirical, my brain is so clever lyrical acting cynical really being very hypocritical Can’t handle my new lifestyle contraception, Flesh laces my mind like a pig skin interception You better not get me steamed up like the vapors Or else me and my crew will be the zombies that ate your neighbours The one thing that hasn’t changed and forever remains the same, Is anytime I meet a girl I always want to get some brain

Some squeeze ‘em in the summer season For kids on the street where the sun's heats beaming Underneath the trees, in the breeze, in the shade Paper cup of lemonade made a jug to go the day Always gotta sweeten, sugar to the litre Ice from the freezer, price kinda meagre Citrus paradise business and vice right where we are Fresh kids bring refreshments I’ll take my lemonade with some fresh mint 50 cents spent had never tasted sweeter Lemonade stand, you know I’m gonna be there Sometimes I think the best job I ever had Was down on the corner at my lemonade stand Apples and oranges ain't for me 5 plus a day from the lemon tree Now I got a juicer imma mass produce a Juice smooth you will lose all your loose change To this juice made on this crusade Against 7UP and Sprite this is real lemonade If the weather is right take a sip before you pay Stay and sit for half a day I’m on the corner like a dealer Made it for my teacher She takes it with tequila Feel I need a lemon tree I don't need no vending machine pretending to be my childhood friend I'd spend every last second at the lemonade stand My favourite things are lemon meringue And playing guitar in a rock ‘n roll band Marmalade jam leather and denim And our tour van you know it’s a lemon

I’m a high roller, a fly baller Stay up real late and I sleep in when I wanna I’m a high roller a shot caller Go where I please and I do what I wanna Got my own private cinema on my laptop Chill in my drop top Benz the make is Match Box I'm mad boss, wearing a suit when I go to the mall A size too small from the second hand store Setting chips down sweating I'm betting it all Cause I'm a major player, Connect Four I’m better than y’all when I spit on a track What I'm lacking in skill I make up in arrogance I don’t drive to the party I got a chauffeur Provided I find the bus fare behind the sofa Monopoly money I’m stacking bills to the ceiling I'm scheming and wheeling for real I'm dealing the dopest product you've even seen By that I mean my first edition Charizard card Mint condition don’t have to ask My diamonds are plastic, gold chains zero carrot but I still feel fly with my removable tatts cause I’m a high roller. When I take you out for dinner we’ll be going classy No BK or Maccas, yo we’re rolling Wendy’s The fact is I’m not really known for my philanthropy Cause I’m high roller don’t mean that I’m a charity Retired at twenty three, immersed in the cash I don’t have to work cause work and incomes got my back The worth of my bank is in six digits If you count the cents and ignore the numbers negative Do on the d-low, tax free yo When I mow the lawn I get 5 dollars for the week I blow it on the street fighter 2 machine though Was gonna say yolo but no, See I’m a high roller keep my rep in check so If you meet me on the street you best show respect Cause I do a lot of killing... on the internet Nevertheless you should know better than to step to a high roller. Roll down the block Hand on my gat, locked and loaded Just popped a cop, shot and reloaded Got to say this high roller game is one full of pain son See I’ve been playing GTA since the PSone Off brand snap backs, oversized track pants Popp’n a cap off a pack of Tic-Tacs Keep’n it fresh up in the middle class you see In actuality I may not be but I maintain mentalities of a high roller.

Take the Tardis forward in time, Start my Delorian I'm part historian part tourist when I Hitchhike galaxies on the Enterprise Will calamity decide whether we live or we die Soar to the stars or burn in our pride Rise of the Machines, well they haven’t risen far I Totally Recall we'd be living on mars Landed on the moon or so they say New millennium and a digital age The future is now but I’m disappointed Where's our hovercraft cars and our teleporters? Future visions of the past The 80's had a flavour that reality lacks No judgement day just the Y2k And the year following was no Space Odyssey 2012 prophecies, dystopia teems From utopian dreams Indeed I am pleased we're not living a scene From Soylent Green, if I had a time machine I’d take it back to the old BC Before technology ruled our lives Chill with praetorians in the Roman times Part historian, part tourist when I High five a pharaoh by the Nile side Landed on the moon or so they say Automatic doors, cloned DNA The future is now but I’m underwhelmed Where’s our portal guns and anti-gravity belts? Alone, stuck in the past-with-a blown flux capacitor With luck ill have a chance to get back So I Tap a lightning strike atop the pantheon and I'm home Back up in the present make a time machine train wreck keep life unexpected I elect to maintain living life by each day The future’s unwritten. There’s no fate but what we make.

Come on down now to N.Sanity Beach I got the sun on my back and the sand on my feet. Where the ground has holes and the flowers have teeth Come on down now to N.Sanity Beach I'm a Naughty Dog and I'm goin’ Hog Wild A Jungle Roller rolling to the next island Every time I find a crystal you know I’m gonna ride it Flown’ upstream dodging TNT and nitro so Come on down now to N.Sanity Beach I got the sun on my back and the sand on my feet Where the ground has holes and the flowers have teeth Come on down now to N.Sanity Beach On a beat fat like Papu Papu I rap a rhyme fast like Ripper Roo Dashing boulders, breaking boxes, beating bosses, eating wumpas Defeating Cortex yeah he can't stop us. Speeding through a vortex hit the bonus round Stampeding over turtles flip ‘em upside down If you’re believing you can burn me flatten me or blow me up Don't flatter yourself I got my (Aku-Aku)

Days when all we talked about were video games Are like a video played in my memory’s haze Taping cartoons on VHS tapes So we could fast forward the ad breaks Remember back when we were sitting in classes And 3d meant blue and red glasses Kids these days would never believe this We played the game for the game not for the achievements And our hardest times weren’t really that hard Cause when life gives you lemons yeah you throw them at cars Collected DBZ cards but never knew how to play See we perfected the art of paper planes and pencil croquet Where in the world is Carmen Santiago? I say though, where in the world did all of those days go? Home alone, rock paper scissors Clocking a game on the Master System II Many memories to memorise Like the number of novels released by R.L Stine I get Goosebumps and teary eyes when I think of the times We were all care free way back up in the ‘90s Back in a classroom all afternoon and bored When Saturday morning cartoons were worth getting up for Before transformers transformed into garbage Poke’mon, Rugrats, Duck Tales, Hey Arnold! Schwarzenegger was in his prime, the last action hero was the last of his time It sounds clichéd and you that know it might be But you know I really miss the ‘90s Tell me where's Wally aka Waldo I say though, where in the world did all of those days go? Home Improvement and the Simpsons Clocking a game the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Memories distant but ever so vivid Think of my child hood, blink and I’ve missed it Times I revisit in my raps reminiscing on my tracks Thinking back to the past days When all we talked about were video games Is like a video played in my memory’s haze Check my chattering bling sing the Poke’mon theme song I start my weekend with my TV on We were all together it will never be the same Half an hour felt forever on a Saturday

Dragon, dragon, rap the dragon, Dragon Ball Z Dragon, dragon, rap the dragon, MC JB Welcome everybody to my hyperbolic rhyme chamber Out in ‘89 arrives twelve years later An instant hit in its instant transmission to kid’s televisions DBZ fanatic though they keep repeating Namek Will Frieza be defeated will we ever leave this planet? Parents hate the violence so our episodes were cut Now we wait an hour watching Goku power up! Cha la head cha la Coming at you like a Kamehameha A Saiyan slayer, defeat ‘em with ease Leave ‘em in need of a whole bag of Senzu Beans Sky blacken, awaken the dragon Wish they made a better live action Up on a mission keep wishing back Krillin Masenko-ing villains from Cell to Red Ribbon In weighted training I’m Super Saiyan Play Budokai, Hyperdimension all day Making cellophane scouters Hope they won’t explode if I go over 9000! The teen Gohan of the game remember jamming on Budokai the game playing, not a Hercule for the fame The big guy, it’s under King Kai that I train Special Beam Canon, planning, I must focus Power level gets huge and Future Trunks knows this On TV DBZ was like it exploded, just know this, My CD is a Destructo Disk Ripping like a claw from a dinosaur Vid Kids wicked spitting like a Spirit Bomb With my android phone Gero made Is where I’m gonna go and punch Jeice in the face Waste people that’ll be fun Especially when it’s coming from my Galick Gun Battling Saibermen till the battle has ended Then Kid goes Super Saiyan ascended.

I’m the illest of killers, keep names of my victims On a hand written list on the side of my fridge Don’t ask me reasons why I may have picked them My actions are twisted, my mind even sicker. My favourite method is drowning. I still hear the sounds when they scream in my sleep but I’m not sad about it Pieces of you on the floor, doubt I’ll be caught Though you know forever I will cherish the thought Of the moments spent together before you spent the last of yours I picked you up put you in the trunk You were quiet, no, silent. With the bag over you, you couldn’t say much To feel your touch just wasn’t enough I had to keep going ‘till I used you all up I’m a cereal killer seriously ill A psychological pain, psycho logic ingrained Sick sane and defeated know that I need this And I need no reasons these personal demons Insane not for fame I’m just sick in the brain Feeding my desires I crave. It’s getting late contemplate clippings on my wall You all thought you were special cause they put you in a catalogue? When I was a child I burnt my toast on purpose Learned to crush Coco Pops just to watch them burst And see most their insides rise up to the surface Birth a perfect pattern from the pieces that were this Purposeless victim of my faded heart, haze of dark, Open you up, deep cuts, tear you up to cup You don’t seem very Cheerio my Honey Puff Do you want me to stop? No sound so I spill you out Snap crackle pop right into my mouth No fear to be found in my delirium Cause I kinda like the sound of a Sanitarium I’m a cereal killer from breakfast ‘till dinner A psychological pain, psycho logic ingrained Sick sane and defeated know that I need this And I need no reasons to crush ‘em like Weet-Bix Insane not for fame I’m just sick in the brain Feeding my desires I crave.

Up to one kind of mischief or another Inside my wolf suit I ran wild until Mother sent me to my room without supper I suffer because I said I'd eat her up But before I knew a forest grew through From the floor to the roof for true Soon a moon in my room don’t believe what I’m seeing Vines from the ceiling I rubbed my eyes cause I thought I was dreaming The walls became the world outside Then on my private boat float through day and through night Sail away on the tide In and out of weeks almost over a year To where the wild things are They roared their terrible roars They gnashed their terrible teeth They rolled their terrible eyes And showed their terrible claws From distant shores to where the wild things are. Yellow eyes wide glare at me Bellowed cries rise Teeth white bared at me But I’m not scared you see: "be still" I’ve got a magic trick won’t blink Stare them in the eyes strike fear in their minds quick Quiet they paused, Tamed them for sure Silenced their roars Frightened they called me the most wild thing of them all Now I am the king of this land Found a crown on head sceptre in hand Sing songs day or night light or dark My first command, let the wild rumpus start! Climbing trees, riding beasts Fires feasts, hide and seek In piles heaped wild and free Now I am a wild thing In charge on top, king of the lot Fun like no other but when I am done I will send you to slumber without any supper Say what? I said STOP! Sitting in my wolf suit I can choose what I wanna do But all I do is think back to all the things I thought couldn't lose Far across the sea smell good things to eat Here I am free but it feels so lonely Away from the people who love me and know me Surrounded, alone, out here on my own King of the wild while I’m without a home The weight of this crown is now weighing me down I think it’s about time that I put it down And the wild things cried: Please don’t go well eat you up we love you so I said no as I turned my head toward the ocean Stepped into my boat and set sail homeward Into the night of his very own room he found his supper waiting for him And it was still hot.

1999 in the school yard Lunch time spent trading Pokémon cards Couldn’t afford a game boy I had No$gmb Got it on an emulator From the rom is how I played it Charmander was the one that I chose I remember running errands for professor oak I'm a game freak and Imma gonna be Waiting at the top of the Pokémon league. As I’m writing this rhyme yea its taking me back to the days when I had memorised the Pokémon rap Elecrtrode, Diglett, Nidoran, Mankey, Venusaur, Rattata, Fearow, Pidgey It doesn’t really that your life is average When you’re a Pokémon master nothing else matters Spending your nights collecting gym badges Leveling up to do maximum damage Teacher confiscated all my Pokémon toys Broke into her office to get back my Blastoise But what am I gonna do when there's no one left to choose Sit at home alone on my Nintendo with the Pokémon blues. 1999 and I turn on my TV After school yea it just got real From 4:00 to 4.30 Ash, Brock and Misty I am too busy for homework or chores After or before Cause I’m training my Caterpie evolve it to Butterfree I traded it for a Raticate. But I’d take it right back like a quick attack If I had the chance to relive the past. For a while I was at the top Filled my Pokedex yea I caught them all Becoming the best that there ever was Crawling through tall grass throwing Pokeballs Cause Pokémon was my reason for breathing From pallet town to Fuschia city Attending poke parties on the s.s anne Battled every trainer who made eye contact Had a Pokémon lunchbox and a Pokémon cap Got my Pokeballs kept in my Pokémon pack. But what am I gonna do when there's no one left to choose Sit at home alone on my Nintendo with the Pokémon blues. See the TV shatter my dreams Ash defeated at the Pokémon league Tears gleam in my eyes, too young to realise It was just the networks scheme to milk the franchise Had 151 mew and Mewtwo And now they tell me there's a few hundred new Pokémon, come on, I thought I caught ‘em all But there’ll always be more on the next console Cause you should know you won’t achieve your dreams There’s always something more from where you wanted to be Standing alone on the Indigo Plateau But we’ll never reach the end of Victory Road You won’t be able to revive me when I depart Flail on the ground like a Magikharp And in my desolation I'll sleep forever Till I wake up dead in a Pokémon centre

about

The second album is finally here! After two years of on and off writing and recording it's great to have everything come together into one, definitive work. Prepare your mind for a zombie-pirate-retro-futuristic adventure, reminiscing on childhood, videogames, cartoons and the struggles of average New Zealand life.

This is the Michelangelo of Hamilton, the one, the only, MCJB.

I would like to thank Rob, Loi and Jade for keeping me inspired, critiquing my work, and pushing and teaching me to do better. Without your motivation and encouragement, I would never have come this far. Shout out to 1-UP for contributing his brilliance and being my first international collab, and also to Farizone, Caroline and Mum for lending their wonderful talents. Word up to all my fans for supporting me, coming to shows and checking out my music and videos. Much appreciation to the Waikato Musicians Club and Creative Waikato for facilitating local music and providing outlets for the indie scene. Thanks to Chrisna for supporting my dreams of becoming a rap superstar and encouraging me to finally release this record.

Enjoy the music.

Peace!
